Drug information Centre
The drug information Centre is a part of the Department of Pharmacy Practice in SRM College of Pharmacy, which was established in 2009 in the hospital. The center is efficiently equipped with the trained pharmacist and a library stocked with textbooks and other resources. It is also facilitated with computer and internet access along with electronic databases. The faculty members and postgraduate students of the Pharmacy Practice department are also involved in the service. A query box is placed outside the Centre and other specialty departments of the hospital which can be availed at all times.
The drug information Centre caters to the need of physicians, pharmacists, nurses and other healthcare professionals working in various departments of the hospital. The services of the drug information Centre can be accessed by direct approach, telephone and email. The drug information queries are received and answers are prepared and provided according to the modified systematic approach. The drug information request and documentation forms prepared by the department are utilized to document the drug information requests and answers. The documentation file is being maintained by the department.
The DIC is a division of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and is located in the ground floor of SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre.
Primary Functions
A PhD program is of high quality if it consistently produces first-rate PhD graduates, as assessed by prospective employers from academia and research labs. The quality of a PhD program clearly depends on the quality of faculty supervisors and the seriousness with which SRMIST conducts research
- Answering patient-specific and general inquiries regarding all aspects of medication use.
- Providing accurate, current and unbiased drug information in the support of rational drug therapy
- Responses are provided in person, by phone or e-mail.
Pharmacovigilance (Adverse drug reaction (ADR) monitoring and reporting)
We assist clinicians in the prevention and management of Adverse Drug Reactions and ensures patient safety and involves causality assessment of Adverse Events, ADR reporting, and monitoring.
